For more than 20 years, Ground Transport has provided those in the community with a safe way to travel and has been a trusted bus service for schools, nonprofits and private organizations.
It can be such a hassle to fight morning and pau hana traffic to get children to school and back home for dinner, but thanks to Ground Transport, commuting is a breeze.
“We transport children to and from school, (for both) regular education as well as special needs students,” explains president Louis Gomes.
The organization operates in excess of 140 school buses and has more than 200 employees who offer charter and transport services to public and private schools, nonprofits, church organizations, senior citizens and more. Ground Transport also has ambulatory and wheelchair vehicles for those with special needs.
“We go anywhere on the island of Oahu,” Gomes continues. “It comes with a certified driver and everything.”
To take advantage of the company’s offerings, organizations are encouraged to contact Ground Transport by phone at 833-4222 or online at groundtransportinc.com to request a reservation. Parents can also call and request private school transportation for their child.
“We send them an application and agreement for private schools,” Gomes says. “We pick up from various locations and we take them to and from school.”
The business remains committed to being a reliable transportation source for children. “As we move into the 2014-15 school year, Ground Transport was also awarded a contract with the DOE (Department of Education),” Gomes explains.
This past school year, the company was selected by the Department Of Education (DOE) to take part in its Get on Board pilot program, which assists in getting keiki to school and back home safely.
Gomes is proud of what Ground Transport has accomplished thus far, and adds that his business has reliable, professional drivers and employees dedicated to getting you to your destination securely.
